Design Guidelines

File formats, preparation requirements, and design limitations for your laser cutting projects

Accepted File Formats

We currently accept DXF files for all orders.

In the near future, we'll also support:

.ai, .dwg, .eps, .stp, and .step

File Preparation

Before uploading, ensure your file passes our checks:

1. Wrong Design
The file must contain drawable entities—empty files cannot be processed.

2. Stay Within Size Limits
Maximum cut size is 1.2 m × 2 m. Oversized designs will be rejected.

Remove overlapping or intersecting lines.

5. Closed Geometry Only
All paths must be closed to ensure accurate cutting.

4. No Orphan Shapes
Eliminate unused shapes otherwise they will be cut and sent to you as a part of the order.

Design Limitations

  • Minimum feature size: 1 mm (may vary by material).
  • Minimum hole diameter: 1.5 × material thickness.

Tolerances

Our laser cutting machines operate with a +/- 0.1 mm tolerance.

For best results:

  • Avoid fits tighter than this tolerance.
  • Account for kerf width, especially for interlocking parts.
